CESAB Delivers Efficiencies at Longs
The road haulage, storage and distribution specialist runs 90 vehicles across the UK, delivering to and from its sites in Leeds and Hull. The decision to change the material handling fleet to Cesab came after an extensive review process and forklift operators trialling several different brands.
Spartan managing director Adam Hughes: “We’re delighted that Longs recognised the advantages of Cesab as a high quality, European-manufactured brand that will deliver across the board, on reliability, productivity and safety. The Cesab M318s have been fitted with optional efficiency devices, which will give Longs the ability to manage their forklift fleet activity much more closely and deliver greater cost savings for the business.”
The forklift trucks feature CESAB’s Intelligent Mast Design (IMD), which ensures superior forward vision through the mast. The good sight lines mean that operators do not need to adjust their position as often or move their head as frequently when positioning the forks, which helps them to achieve faster and more accurate stacking and loading and unloading operations, as well as increased comfort during shifts. The M318s are also fitted with speed controllers and power cut off systems which will help Longs improve on fuel consumption and tyre wear.
Tony Long: “The Cesab range is already proving to be durable, hard working and efficient. Our drivers are happy because visibility is improved, which increases their performance and comfort throughout shifts. We’re really pleased with the service levels from Spartan and overall productivity is definitely up. We know we made the right decision.”
